Retail Operations Audit Manager

The Operations Audit Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the performance, planning and execution of compliance, financial, operational audits, and special projects within the Green Solution Retail locations utilizing CAM audit software. The Operations Audit Manager adds value and improves operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance process. Also responsible for systematically monitoring and evaluating the implementation and sustained success of all TGS Management policies/procedures enforced by The Green Solution retail management staff. The Operations Audit Manager will report all findings directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a friendly, courteous and compassionate demeanor at all times

  • Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
  • Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operationsí effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
  • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
  • Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect auditís results and document process
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
  • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
  • Maintain open communication with management and audit committee
  • Confirm that all audit policies and procedures are properly carried out and assigned work scheduled is maintained
  • Determine overall facility management quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests
  • Propose and plan for operational audits in business units
  • Execute operations audit and assess company operations, process, financial, compliance and other associated risks
  • Prepare and present quality reports of audit findings and recommendations to C.O.O. using CAM audit software
  • Coordinates with management and stakeholders to identify areas of risk within businesses
  • Identify operational risks within the facilities
  • Assist management in developing annual audit plan
  • Ensure compliance with government laws and company regulations
  • Prepare store evaluation reports and submit them to management
  • Read and interpret all MED regulations and relate to company policy
  • Maintain the integrity of all confidential information utilized during employee training
  • Preserve confidentiality/security of sensitive company and employee information
  • All other tasks and job duties as assigned

Qualifications Education

  • Associate or Bachelorís degree in any field required; preference given to candidates with Education or Business degrees


  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and TGS Management
  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Green Solution, TGS Management, and its affiliates

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Must have 1+ Year of experience within The Green Solution, TGS Management or any of its affiliates
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions specifically with Microsoft Excel
  • 2-3 yearsí experience utilizing CAM software
  • Ability to follow established company protocol for document storage and information management
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, HIPAA, and CDPHE requirements; previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Experience at least 1+ year with state inventory tracking system (METRC)
  • High-level attention to detail, administrative prowess and highly organized
  • Strength to work independently with little or no direct supervision
  • Capability to maintain focus in an active environment and complete tasks on specific deadlines
  • Able to adapt to rapidly-changing working environments, deadlines and working conditions

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to task prioritize with shifting workload in a fast-paced office environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Office features

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time.

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office, retail cultivation or manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be able to work off-site in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions; may require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed
  • Must have valid driverís license
  • Must be able to acquire MED Support badge ($150 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment

Travel Requirements

  • Will require frequent travel to all Green Solution Retail locations as needed utilizing company owned vehicle
