Director of Manufacturing

Summary

The Director of Manufacturing is primarily responsible for ensuring production, packaging, and distribution processes are operating harmoniously at all times. This position is also responsible for ensuring stock levels of all marijuana infused products is maintained within retail facilities. The Director of Manufacturing provides direct oversight of all manufacturing and packaging processes and procedures, ensuring all product is compliant with state and company regulation. Acting as a liaison to the Executive Team, the Director of Manufacturing communicates new product lines, production planning, packaging planning, as well as distribution verification. Additionally, this position manages all new research and development for the facility, ensuring NectarBee remains one of the most innovate extraction companies in the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with all regulations, policies, and procedures relating to security, health, and safety
  • Enforce any necessary changes to meet state and company regulatory standards, guaranteeing minimum risk to team members and the company, as set by government agencies and the company
  • Maintain inventory levels at all retail stores to ensure all product is at par levels
  • Create and facilitate store-to-store transfers to ensure stock is at par levels
  • Plan production based on product supply and demand
  • Ensure all processes and operations are aligned with Executive vision
  • Plan packaging based on raw product supply and store needs
  • Verify all distribution processes and ensure logistics are aligned with company needs utilizing dynamic NAV software
  • Introduce new product lines within the company
  • Oversee the hiring and termination processes for all Team Members within the division
  • Build a strong management culture with the Operations Team; coach Managers, identify skills and opportunities for development; provide advice and guidance regarding management issues when needed, ensuring all issues are resolved
  • Conduct research and development for new/innovative ways of streamlining production processes
  • Ensure equipment maintenance occurs regularly or as needed
  • Purchase new equipment for facility or team members as needed
  • Digitally and physically file all important facility documentation weekly
  • Act as a subject matter expert when verifying standard operating procedures
  • Conduct regulatory walkthroughs of the facility
  • Create Executive summaries to present to stakeholders and Executives as needed
  • All other job duties as assigned

 

Qualifications
Education

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any related field required
  • Master’s degree in any related field preferred

Training 

  • Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
  • 1-3 years’ experience with metrc™ program
  • 1-3 years’ experience with seed-to-sale software

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language and reasoning skills
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • 3-7 years’ experience of supply chain management
  • In-depth knowledge of all processes, equipment and techniques for all methods of hash production, including: CO2, Alkane (Propane/Butane), Ethanol, and Water/Heat extractions

Preferred Skills & Experience 

  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
  • Must be able to work in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions. May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed
  • Must be able to acquire MED Key badge ($300 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment
