Summary

The Inventory Control Auditor is primarily responsible for supporting effective operations by performing compliance audits through verifying product inventory at retail and manufacturing facilities, traveling locally to perform site audits of inventory to include, but not limited to marijuana, marijuana-infused products, live plant clones, and corresponding digital inventory records. Additionally, will coordinate with Department managers to ensure compliance with all MED regulations and company policy. The Inventory Control Auditor reports to the Compliance Manager who manages all Compliance Department staff.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeanor at all times;
  • Adheres to company mission statement and core values and maintains high ethical standards and professionalism in all business interactions;
  • Coordinates with Compliance Manager, staff and stakeholders in small group settings to execute company mission statement and to establish, update and implement auditing procedures;
  • Understands the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division, Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and more.
  • Responsible for reading and interpreting regulatory requirements and legal text to relay information to stakeholders;
  • Responsible for legal compliance by auditing and verifying inventory counts as they correlate to METRC, including but not limited to MED, city, State, and local requirements.
  • Performs inventory counting, research, conducts field interviews, site observations and reporting, and completes other information gathering to verify inventory and determine compliance with MED regulations and company policy;
  • Performs digital inventory audits to confirm inventory recordkeeping and determine compliance with MED regulations and company policy;
  • Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, warehouses and manufacturing facilities, with ability to gather information from a range of employees;
  • Responsible for accessing and updating documentation using a variety of software applications and operating systems;
  • Responsible for reading and understanding all MED regulations and company policy regarding inventory control and audits;
  • Responsible for writing reports and communicating audit findings to Compliance Manager and other stakeholders;
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of all confidential information, including but not limited to inventory counts, sales data, wholesale costs, and overall company information;
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

  • Associate or Bachelorís degree in any field required;

Training 

  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management.

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, problem-solving and reasoning skills;
  • Advanced understanding and experience using METRC;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions especially Excel;
  • Ability to follow established company protocol for digital and inventory control and document storage;
  • Auditing experience;
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, HIPAA, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities; 
  • High-level attention to detail, administrative skills, and highly organized;
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision;
  • Ability to maintain focus in an active environment and complete tasks on specific deadlines;
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly-changing working environments, deadlines, and working conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.;
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time.

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level;
  • Must be able to work off-site in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions; May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed;
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid driverís license;
  • Must be able to acquire MED Key badge ($300 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment.

Travel Requirements 

  • Regularly requires local travel, occasionally on short notice, as needed.
