Senior Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will research and analyze financial information to help company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing results, preparing reports, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management for TGS Management and its affiliates. Works with executive and senior leaders to set company-wide investment direction and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

* Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data

* Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested

* Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.

* Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.

* Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

* Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data

* Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks

* Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis

* Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models

* Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to a Executive Leadership based on sound analysis

* Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts

* Describe an insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results.

* Creates live dashboards through system software, ad hoc reporting utilizing MS Dynamics NAV ERP

* Gathers and investigates financial results and makes recommendations for improvement

* Conducts cost-benefit analyses

* Participate in cross-functional meetings, providing relevant data and information to stakeholders

* Assess risks of potential solutions and prioritizes with other business demands

* Improve systems by studying current company practices

* Creates spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel Power Pivot software

* Additional accounting and administrative tasks as necessary



* A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/MBA preferred.


* Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management

Required Skills & Experience

* High level attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience

* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in full cycle accounting including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, journal entries, P&L, fixed assets, and ad-hoc reporting

* Knowledgeable about computer hardware and software, primarily Microsoft Office (emphasis on Advanced Excel and Access including a mastery of pivot tables)

* Ability to build out financial reporting and perform sophisticated financial modeling

* Knowledge of how to write SQL queries

* Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred

* Accounting/GAAP knowledge

* Minimum 3-5 years’ in reporting, consolidation of data and financial analysis

* Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in business related field

* Effective verbal and written communication skills

* Experience in a fast-paced, multi-company environment

* Strong attention to detail and persistent follow-up skills

* Capable of sound judgment and analytical decision making

* Self-starter with proven ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task

* Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.

* Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time

Work Requirements

* Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level

* Must be able to acquire MED Support badge ($75 fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment
